Don’t Give Up! You’re Three Feet From Gold
This morning my email client announced an email from Mr. Greg S. Reid. It is not unusual to hear from Greg from time to time, but something was different today. His email captured my attention with the very first line after the greeting….
Dear Jonathan,
Ever felt discouraged?
Wanted to give up and throw in the towel?
Have you ever faced challenges that seem overwhelming……
….Life is interesting. There are no coincidences, there is no such thing as happen-stance. In fact, one of my personal affirmations and beliefs is that I am always in the right place at the right time. However, though this is my positive mindset, it can be interesting to note my behavior when confronted with life’s unexpected surprises. You know, the out of left field kind.
Think about that for a moment. What do you tend to do? Throw up your hands, stomp your feet and growl? Do you give in to the circumstance and situation? Do you accept it as the way the cookie crumbles? Just life?
Today’s email was more engaging simply because I had exactly one of those days. My morning was met with an unexpected and unpleasant surprise. The first three lines of Greg’s email spoke to me as I identified with the emotion of his message. It is at times like these that we cannot let ourselves sulk and sink into a party of pity and self doubt. Why? Because, as Napoleon Hill revealed, in the midst of the momentary diversion, the distraction from our goal and the illusion that is currently testing our resolve; don’t give up, you’re only three feet away from gold.
Greg’s email was accompanied by a link to a video. The video is a trailer to his current project, Three Feet Away. A project that he has partnered on with the Napoleon Hill Foundation. Check out the link provided. The message is simple, yet profounding. One that will strike home with all.
